Director of Photography John E Fry
John Fry is a highly experienced freelance professional lighting cameraman and now cinematographer from the South of England, specialising in getting it right first time!
From the BBC to independent production companies, large corporate clients & events producers, John delivers technically excellent, good humoured, reliable & team spirited camerawork that is moulded to the specific requirements of that production, the subject matter and the location.
John happily switches between traditional “BBC style” camerawork and more contemporary loose styles, offering ideas where appropriate, and concentrates hard on communicating effectively with the director & rest of the crew.
More recently John has been Director of Photography on several feature films and TV series, including Dead Fred, with Sandra Dickinson & Jane How, and The Easy Riders Caribbean, with Danny John-Jules.
When there is no other crew, John is just as comfortable in a PSC situation having often directed himself and small crews on corporate films, travel documentaries and ENG shoots.
John is passionate about getting the right shot, be it on a Arri SRIII on the Master Steadicam, a PMW-500 on the shoulder, or on a specialised action camera going down a ski slope!
John is also an experienced and passionate Skiing Cameraman & Snowboard Videographer
