For the third time in a row FRYFILM provided the official onsite film crew for Farnborough International Airshow in 2016 through Ouno Creative. We send ten crew across the week covering Steadicam, show stands, the air display, Prime Minister’s visit, corporate commissions and photography assignments for the biggest show of it’s kind!

We also provide our outside broadcast unit and crew to help cover the Ultimate Strongman Team events for the third year running in 2017. Our camera operators, multicam specialists, sound man and Steadicam Operator had a great time with the big fellas in Stoke and Southampton, live to the web and recorded for later broadcast on Channel 5.
Steadicam has always been John’s most highly prized skill, and he has become well known through not only operating on a huge variety of TV shows, movies, commercials and OBs, but through instructing Steadicam, which he has done for almost ten years, both for the National Film & TV School, and more recently with Tiffen Steadicam. John has even had the privilege to meet the inventor of the Steadicam, Mr Garrett Brown, and been published in several industry magazines with articles about Steadicam and it’s continued evolution.

John has over fifteen years experience as a professional freelance Steadicam Owner Operator & Lighting Cameraman working mainly in feature film, broadcast television, multi-camera OB production and high level corporate videos. John produces and manages all our Multicamera shoots, runs the office and pays the bills! More on John here.
Over the last few years he has also been Director of Photography on several independent features and TV documentary to the Caribbean, vision mixed live on BBC Springwatch, and filmed the latest two series of Red Dwarf behind the scenes.
John is a qualified ski instructor and has filmed on and off piste for many years. He is a keen Scout leader, which has led him to all parts of Europe and beyond, always with camera in hand. John trained with a renowned Mail on Sunday photographer while studying for his film & TV degree, so is almost as well versed in stills photographic techniques as he is motion pictures, and has taken wedding photos professionally for over twenty years. This has led to his deep appreciation of lighting, both in stills and on video, and ultimately to him now being offered the role of cinematographer more regularly. Multicamera and outside broadcasting are a particular passion for John, having fallen in love with the whole technical team ethos with the help of a certain Brian Mayor while studying at Bournemouth.
John’s technical knowledge, passion and enthusiasm are hard to beat, and it is difficult to find a production environment in which he is not already very familiar.

Director & Editor
Steve is a focussed and decisive director and editor, who is behind our best corporate films and dramatic commercials. One of his passions is aircraft, which he has filmed from the ground and the air for over twenty years.
Chad Chadwick
Cameraman
Chad is our surfer dude, who is never far from the sea when he isn’t out filming. He has shot on many of our multicamera shoots & indie features, as well as a lot of corporate work, and Farnborough Airshow.
Brian Mayor
Outside Broadcast & Multicam Specialist
Brian is our outside broadcast specialist, who’s technical knowledge is hard to match. Brian is a voice of calm reasoning even in the toughest situations, & directing many multicamera shoots we do sometimes forget he’s a pretty good cameraman too!
Alistair Bathgate
Sound Recordist
Alistair is an passionate young sound man who’s attention to detail and dedication to his art is impressive. He has ensured excellent audio from Stoke to Montenegro for Fryfilm, in between working on indie features, several of which he has had a hand in writing!
James Light
Cameraman and Editor
James has an enthusiasm and lust for life that is always welcome on our corporates and multicams. He has shot many corporates and TV programmes all over the UK and Europe, including his own projects which he has produced for charity.
Seb Joly
Cameraman & Steadicam Operator
Seb is constantly proving himself invaluable of our multicamera shoots and corporate films, with his great work ethic, immaculate equipment, and passion for making pretty pictures! Originally from France, Seb has lived in the UK for over ten years, and after Steadicam training with Tiffen & John is already building a very promising career in the Noble Instrument!

James is as tried and tested as a cameraman can be. From pouring rain on an airfield to long days in conferences, to TV ENG style corporate shooting James is a solid, reliable and fun cameraman to work with.

Dave is one of those professionals who knows his trade so well he knows when to break the rules to best effect, and his photographs are a testament to this. His hard work, top level equipment and unique eye have made him a very well respected commercial photographer in London, and his passion for the outdoors means we see him with camera in hand at Scout camps almost as much as John!
